I Won’t Be Buying Anymore Powerball Tickets

The Powerball pot recently is outrageous. So many millions of dollars unfathomable to someone like me. I never play Powerball but like most Americans, when the pot gets in the high six figure millions, I decide, eh why not and get a few.

Last night as I got into bed with my husband, we talked about the Powerball jackpot of almost 400,000 million dollars. Wow, it hurts just to type that! So. Much. Money. As I’m sure many couples, friends, families do, you play the hypothetical of what you would do if you won.

I sat down next to him and asked him seriously, what would you do. Not joking around. I wanted to know. My husband, being the practical person he is, talked about a financial advisor, putting most of it away to earn interest and invest. He said he’d give some to our families but most importantly, he wanted to grow the fortune to benefit our children, their children, and so on. He said he’d want to live comfortably for the rest of his life, get a dream home, and focus on some of his passions knowing most of the money was in the bank to help future generations of our family. Sounds nice right?

He looked at me and I told him I’d give most of the money to charity. I said I wouldn’t want that kind of money; it’s too much. I’d prefer to give most of it away to those who would need it and then we could live comfortably with the rest. Set up a trust fund for our children and make sure they were taken care of. But having a bank account with that kind of money actually stresses me out. How could I go on living life with that kind of money knowing there were so many people struggling in this world, in my country, or even in my own family. I would hate it if I didn’t share with everyone and give it all away.

A bleeding heart he called me. Said I was ridiculous for wanting to give all the money away. Told me I could start my own charity - which yeah that sounds awesome. Told me we can give some to our families. Said we wouldn’t give it all away.

This was not an argument we were having but a conversation by two completely different people. We are married but so different. I think it’s actually better that way - we both have our own thoughts and ways and we even each other out.

As I looked at him and imagined holding a winning ticket in my hand with an enormous chunk of change coming our way, I realized right then, I don’t want it.

Winning that kind of money would, inevitably, destroy our family. We’d compromise and work out the plan together but I’d never let the guilt I feel over having so much more than others subside. And my husband would get stressed and I’d grow to resent our decisions because of the guilt.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m no martyr or Mother Theresa but going from middle class, getting by to filthy rich mega millionaire is a huge difference. I’d never feel comfortable as a mega millionaire. I don’t do fancy cars or name brands. Every dollar I have is a fortune to me because of the way we worked hard raising our family.

Therefore I decided I’m not going to buy any more tickets. I don’t want to win the mega Powerball jackpot. I am happy with my family, our circumstances, and our life. I wouldn’t want that money to get in the way of that.

I don’t want the money. I don’t want the problems. I’m good. No more tickets for me.

Who was that?

She's talking about the nightclub in Florence. Dancing on speakers, shots of schnapps, being overly tired. Laughing while she's talking almost slurring her words as if she's still intoxicated, but not. Then she starts talking about the Pope. The camera pans and you can see the Vatican and a big window with a flag draped under it. People everywhere sitting at tables waiting for the Pope to make an appearance and bless the crowd with his service. She giggles some more as she talks about sitting in Rome waiting to see the Pope.

Her hair is gently weaved into french braid pigtails. Her t-shirt, a blue ringer with Rainbow Brite on it, fitting not one stereotypical thing about her. When in Rome... doesn't apply to her. The bright blue eyes shining in the sun without a hint of a hangover gleam with excitement and love. Her shotty mascara job making her eyelashes ten time longer. Freckles dot her face so innocently and more seem to appear the longer she talks with the rays of the sun.

She's not talking to anyone in particular as her friend talks to her through the camera. She can't seem to stop talking as she rambles on and on. Then a hush takes over the crowd and the camera pans again to see the Pope at the window. It's quiet in front of the camera and you can faintly hear the beautiful Italian floating through the air from the Pope as he addresses the crowd. For a brief minute she's mesmerized.

Then the talking continues. The camera pans back to the girl. She's grinning ear to ear. Not overly religious but definitely sentimental you can tell she's thinking. Maybe she's thinking of the last time she was in Rome with her grandparents a few years ago. Maybe she's thinking of her last trip to Italy. The time when her stuffed dog, the one she took everywhere and slept with every night even at the age of 18 (and still at 22), got left behind accidentally in Milan. How she cried the entire flight home and how after many confusing phone calls between her non Italian speaking mom and an Italian hotel her stuffed dog flew back across the Atlantic back home. She could be thinking about that memory and smiling fondly.

Her mood changes and her happy smile turns a bit melancholy. Maybe now she's thinking of her stuffed dog and her mother. Maybe now she realizes she hasn't seen her mother in a while and misses her terribly. But her smile doesn't stop. She's thinking and smiling. The camera zooms and you can see this young girl so full of life. Not one bag under her eye. Not one heavy burden on her shoulders.

The blonde streaks in her hair glisten in the sun and for a second you lose the image because of the glare. She is back on the camera looking up at the Pope still speaking. She is taking it all in and doesn't want to forget one second of this experience. The camera abruptly cuts out and then goes to an Italian flag. I paused the clip.

My daughter looked at me watching the video on the computer screen and asks, mommy who was that? Was that you?

Things I Almost Tweeted Today

So may good one liners today! But I was too lazy to fit them under 140 characters!

When it comes to having a husband (like mine) who cooks, cleans, and does laundry OR kills spiders for you, I realized tonight I'd rather have the latter.

The worse time of day = after bath time. I need to get a diaper on, lotion my kid, and put on pajamas all without either of us hurting ourselves.

Lost my cool in front of the kids today. Screamed like a banshee when a wood spider came out of the tub faucet. Good thing my baby thought it was funny and laughed at me.

In the process of transporting said spider from the dry tub (with my naked baby in it) to the toilet, I dropped him unbeknown to me. Therefore two minutes later we all screamed again when he was on the floor right next to us.

My baby finally grasped how to do 'how big is the baby?! SO BIG!' today. So naturally I taught him how to say "dude" as well. He did good. A+ for effort.

Teaching my son to say "dude" was successful two fold. It actually sounded like "dude" and it royally pissed off my British husband cause he really despises that word. Okay, okay. We'll work on "mate" tomorrow.

Some Whining, Just for Fun

I'm so freaking tired today. Wahhh...

I'm sitting at the lab doing my glucose test. You know, that supposed awful test where pregnant women drink this super sugary drink and then wait an hour before getting their blood drawn. For the record, that orange drink is fantastic! It cues up memories of having that orange barrel drink back in the day. What were those things called? Thanks, Google - Little Hugs! I love it - I know, I'm a weirdo. I rarely drink sugary drinks so I feel so rebellious. And it's making the little guy inside crazy! Sugar rush!

I'm supposed to be working but quite honestly, I don't want to. My brain is fried. I'm just so tired. So today I'll the bare minimum and take it easy. Then tomorrow I'll totally regret it as I get backed up.

So there ya have it. Some whining. I'm tired and I have nothing of consequence to write about that is worth reading.

Earrings From a Past Life

Today I tried to find some earrings in my jewelry box and had to then cram the drawer back in. Frustrated, I opened it again and figured it was time to do some housekeeping.

I have so many earrings. I have mom earrings, dance club earrings, work earrings, every day earrings, and special occasion earrings. I have a lot of earrings. I love most of them but realized in my current lifetime, many of them do not apply anymore.

I started digging out earrings I haven't worn in years remembering the last time I did wear them.

The shimmery gold ones I always wore when I went out dancing or to the bar. I loved the way they shimmered when I moved and were always great during photo opps. Unfortunately my night club days are pretty much over. I'm not really interested. Plus they've got a lot of wear and tear so they are done. (see below...!)

My gold hoops with the rainbow beads I always wore with my hippie tye dye dress. I couldn't bear to part with them though it's been a while since I wore them.

It was definitely time to say good bye to some of my earrings. It felt nice to cleanse my jewelry box of some of them but the fun times will never be forgotten!

Hawaii Honeymoon - love these earrings

31 Things I've Learned in 31 Years

(Well I started this in September 2012.   Just added a few more in October 2012.  Added a few more November 2012.  Adding more now January 2013. And finally finished March 2013.)

On my 32nd birthday, today, I have decided I must finish this post. Finally. Enjoy...

Over at one of my new favorite blogs, they are all doing this exercise and I really wanted to add my two cents... Let's see how long this takes me to write!

31 Things I've Learned in 31 Years

32 Things I've Learned in 32 Years
  1. Nothing ever turns out the way you planned. You can plan 100% of everything but get ready to be disappointed.
  2. Judge a book by it's cover, literally.  In the end, you'll be more surprised with the outcome because you didn't what it was about!
  3. There is no such thing as true love until you've become a mother.
  4. No matter what you're going through, always remember someone out there has it worse off.  It could be worse.
  5. Be grateful for the little things like running water, an abundance of food, shelter, and people in your life making things all the more easier.
  6. Marriage is hard!  You both have to work at it and it can't be one sided.
  7. No matter how many romantic comedies you watch or chick lit novels you read, your life will never be like that.  This one is hard to swallow ladies but if you think John Cusack will be outside your window some day with a boombox blasting Peter Gabriel, think again...
  8. When all else fails, have some chocolate.
  9. Nobody can get anywhere without rolling up their sleeves and committing to some hard work.
  10. Enjoy life in the now and don't say "I can't wait until..." because that moment will come all too fast and go by even faster.
  11. Take some me time, every day.  Even if it's only for 5 minutes!
  12. Be spontaneous.
  13. Don't get upset over the little things like spilled milk and broken glasses.  They are only things.
  14. Do stupid stuff every once in a while. It will be fun, I promise.
  15. Never, ever, ever change who you are for someone else.
  16. There is always a light at the end of the tunnel, even if you think your tunnel is never ending and too dark.
  17. They are your feelings and don't listen to someone if they say don't worry, or it's stupid.  Your feelings always count.
  18. Working from home rocks.  Seriously, it rocks.
  19. Age is just a number.  You're only as old as you feel.  And no matter how depressed you get for being older and growing up (well do we really ever grow up?) and life going by too fast, just remember it could be worse. You could be dead!
  20. If you have troubles, nothing can take them away better than reading a good book.  A little bit of fiction is a great escape!
  21. You will do some of the same things your parents did.  Try not to.  I dare you! (Trust me. I never thought in a million years I'd be saying, "That's right on a Saturday night!" like my dad always says.  Damn, I can't escape it!)
  22. True friends are hard to fine.  And friendship is a two way thing.  One person can't do all the work.
  23. Playing with a child and using your imagination is so amazingly rewarding.  We must all do this more often.
  24. Don't stress about weather! You can't control it.  So what if it's torrential down pour on your wedding day.  So what if there is a hurricane and it cancels your event.  There is nothing you can do and stressing just makes it worse! (Okay so I need to listen to this myself...)
  25. Food is awesome so don't limit yourself because of calories!
  26. Family is just that, family; no matter what.
  27. A good cry is necessary every once in a while. Try it while sitting on the bathroom floor or in an empty tub for superior results.
  28. Sing loud and often wherever you are. Singing is so gratifying even if you have a terrible voice.
  29. Being nice all the time is not all it's cracked up to be. People will walk all over you and take advantage of you. Sometimes people suck ass.
  30. Close your eyes when you're listening to good music. It will sound even better and it's invigorating.
  31. The beach is more fun and calming in the winter so grab you hat, gloves, and coat and take a walk by the waves during a snowfall.
  32. Smile. Really, smile. So many people have blank faces or frowns all day long. Having a smile on your face puts you in a good mood and will make others happier around you... If you just smile...

I can't believe how long this post took me to write.

Random Quotes

I love quotes.  Or I loved quotes; when I had the time to look up quotes, write them down, post them everywhere.  I don't have as much time for them but I love that my old habits are always around.  Every once in a while I'll come across a bookmark online of a quote I saved.  I'll find a piece of paper with a quote I jotted down. I'll read through my journal and find random quotes on blank pages all the way in the back.  Here are some I recently came across that made me smile all over again.

"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass. It is about learning how to dance in the rain."
- Vivan Green

"Three grand essentials to happiness in this life are something to do, something to love, and something to hope for."
- Joseph Addison

"Never frown, even when you are sad because you never know who is falling in love with your smile."
- unknown

"To the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world."
- unknown

"Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one.  So when we finally meet the person, we will know how to be grateful."
- unknown

"Don't waste your time on a man who isn't willing to waste their time on you."
- unknown

"It takes a minute to find someone special, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them, but then an entire lifetime to forget them."
- unknown

"No man is ever worth your tears and the one who is won't make you cry."
- unknown

"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the number of moments that take our breath away."
- unknown

PS:
At our wedding, the favors were home made plaques by my aunt and cousins that depicted a love quote on them.  We hung them on all the chairs for people to take home and they were beautiful.

Dinner for a Stranger

The other night I had to return something to the mall.  So I did what I always do when I have nothing to buy, I went shopping.  I have this crazy habit of going to the mall and just spending money (that I don't have) on things that I don't need without trying anything on.

Then I come home and try it on and return it all back to the mall.  I don't get it, I never will, but it's what I do...

But anyways, this is not a story about my weird shopping habits.

It was after 6 when I left the mall so I told Jared I had some cash and I'd pick up some Chinese take out on my way home.  Our local place only takes cash so it's a special treat when I have cash - which I never do - to get some of the most amazing wonton soup ever made!  See at our Chinese take out place, they have the broth and the wontons separate so it's so fresh and delish!

But anyways this is also not a story about wonton soup...

There I am at the Chinese take out place with Lyla paying for my meal when a girl walks in.  She's a young girl, maybe 18 or 19, pretty and looking totally helpless with her credit card in hand while she stares at the "cash only" sign.  She repeats the sign and says she doesn't have any cash, didn't know it was cash only.  The lady at the register says she's sorry but can't take credit cards, they don't have a machine.  She says this once she can take a check.  But the young girl shakes here had solemnly that she has no check book.  The lady tells her where an ATM is and the girl leaves, defeated but determined to get food.  This whole time I'm thinking to myself, buy her dinner for her.

But I feel as if I've missed my moment. The girls walks out the door and I sit there stunned that I didn't move fast enough.  I decide not to waste any more time and I follow the girl out. She asks me where the ATM is and I tell her I don't really know. I tell her I don't think there is one in walking distance.  Then I tell her, let me buy you dinner.  I have some extra cash.  She insists no. She can't let me do that.  I march in the restaurant and tell the lady that I'm paying for her dinner.  The girl looks at me so gratefully not knowing what to say.  The lady I pay smiles and says it's very nice of me.

It's not every day you get to do something nice for a stranger, I say.  The girl, now almost in tears, tells me she had the worse day ever.  I tell her we'll end it on a good note.  She leaves food in hand, thanking me again and again, even offering me some of her food.

I feel good.  That $8 would have just gone to something stupid so I'm happy it went to feed this young girl who had a bad day.  I need to do this more often.  It feels so good to do nice things for strangers.

I recommend we all do these kinds of things often.  Brings smiles to people and renews faith in mankind for all.

Count your blessings Wednesday and some ranting...

Yesterday, oh man what a day!  It all went so well until after dinner.  My mom had Lyla for the day and after work she dropped her off at my office.  Jared was going to play tennis after work so it was just us girls.  I figured we could grab a quick bite and then go home.  We did two potty breaks in an hour and then made the 45 minute journey home and it began...
  1. Five minutes before getting home, Lyla said, peepee potty?  I said hold it, we're almost home.  She says no peepee in the car.  Yikes!  I pulled over and it was too late.  I can't really be mad at the kid.  She's 2!  She has about one accident a week if that.  This was the second time she peed in the carseat - a nightmare but not the end of the world right?  She felt terrible though and I didn't yell at her, just reminded her the rules and how she's such a big girl for how well she does, etc.  Not traumatizing my child because I have more work to do now.  Not an ideal start to the night but it goes on...
  2. Drive into my driveway where I see my neighbor doing archery almost on my property.  Seriously, of all the neighbors you can get, mine has to be weapons lover.  I have seen him shooting shotguns, rifles, hunting guns, beebee guns, and now arrows?!  WTF!  This is not a DAMN military hub or reservation, this is a residential neighborhood crawling with kids.  Put the F'ing weapons way!  I've been seeing him do this more and more recently and I can't stand it.  I want my child to be safe and away from that crap.  Take it to the range!
  3. I'm already irritated so when I get home I unloaded the car, stripped Lyla and told her not to move but she does, OMG losing my mind. She's naked trying to run out of the house with no shoes on.  I told her to stand on the carpet outside the door so I can clean the car seat.  She's not listening and taking her pee-soaked bottom and sitting in her car, on her bike, etc.  I am trying so hard to keep it together.
  4. We went back inside for a minute and right away she's picking up our new kitty who I've told her a million times now not to pick up. I finally closed the cat in the basement for the time being so he doesn't escape outside and Lyla doesn't pick him up again.  At this point my ears are red and steam is about to start flowing.
  5. Back outside again Lyla won't sit still. I finally threatened her with her blankie, her toys, and getting rid of the kitty if she doesn't stand still.  By the grace of God it works so I can clean the car seat. Upon further inspection it appears she has pissed the motherload, of course.  Just taking the seat out it's dripping.  OMMFG!  I stripped off the cover to throw in the wash, wiped down the inside, and realized the foam is soaked too.  WTF do I do with pee soaked foam?  I started LOSING it. Literally losing it.  I was SO angry.  I did the best I could with the seat and prayed silently we could get it all back together for her to go to school today.
  6. We are finally getting back in the house and I yelled to Lyla not to open the door for the cat - about 5 times for that matter.  What does she do?  First thing she ran to the door and opened it.  I flipped my lid.  I probably shouldn't have yelled at her but I did.  I was irate and stressed out.  I put her in the tub and she stood there, smiled, and peed.  I sat there trying to pull myself together.  Instead I walked away for a minute to go grab a towel.  As I closed the closet door, the cat cried because he was trying to sneak in the closet and I caught his head. F'ing wonderful.
  7. Lyla finally was bathed and dressed for bed and I stood in my room pacing.  I looked out my window and there is my F'ing neighbor shooting arrows still.  I called up Jared and told him I was in a VERY foul mood and under no circumstance should he and his friend show up here after tennis as I did NOT want to have to be friendly.  He went to get a drink, I didn't blame him.
  8. I called my mom to rant and probably dropped the F bomb more than I ever had in my life to my mother in one setting.
  9. Lyla easily went to bed, thankfully, and I sat down to calm down.  And that was my night...
Just typing that recount makes me tense.

Today I am grateful for making it through that without permanently damaging my child, for not blaming her peeing for all the stress, and for not letting my entire night be ruined since we snuggled at bed time.

I'm also grateful I took a run during lunch, the hottest time of the day and uphill! Then jumped in my pool commando style.  I'm grateful I got up really early and got a lot of work done.  I'm grateful tonight has to be better than last night!

And my neighbor should be grateful I haven't called the police again on them...

My Guilty Pleasure

One thing I cannot live without?  Swiss Miss!  I LOVE hot cocoa and have it almost every day during the winter.  No matter what diet I'm on hot cocoa is always allowed!  For some reason it always puts a smile on my face. I just drank my last packet today and now I have to go to the store for more!  Thanks Swiss Miss!

In Case You Wanted My Opinion...?

Heard on the news today that NASA confirmed a new planet that could sustain life.  Then read this article.

My first reaction:  LOL!  Those "aliens" are probably sophisticated people who have been watching us for light years and making fun of how far behind we are in science.  The call us the aliens and would prefer to stay 600 light years away.

My second reaction:  Hmm, when are they going to offer rides between here and this new planet?  Earth is getting pretty dirty, it's full of bad people, wars, and destructive human behavior.  It's only a matter of time before we need to go there and ruin another planet.  Maybe I can get there first so I can see it before that happens.

Way to go, NASA - it quite amazing how we can find these things.  Let's hope mankind does not destroy this new planet!

Who can I ask?

I have questions all the time.  Sometimes my questions are what questions to ask. I'm holding the phone up wondering who to call.  First instinct always is my mom.  Regardless of the topic or situation, it's mom.  Secondly if she is not around I think of dad.  Sometimes it can bite me in the butt asking dad though - see, he thinks he knows everything.  As does my husband so I tend not to ask him either.

But today as my mom didn't answer the phone and for a split second I almost dialed my grandma who is 90 years old and the loveliest woman I know but unfortunately is not a computer whiz; I found my answer.  Google.   Duh!  Google has all the answers to my problems.

So thank you, Google.

Not So Productive Tuesday

My office currently has no power.  UGH!  So that means my one day to socialize in the office, be ultra productive (without my child), and just be in an adult setting all day is not going to happen this week.  So I am stuck at home hiding out in my bedroom with my laptop pretending I'm not home so my child won't have a temper tantrum to be with me.

Sitting on my over-sized chair in my bedroom is not the most idea office setting but at least I'm alone and it's quiet.

But I will share some exciting news with all of you.  This past weekend I went out and bought myself a whole new work wardrobe! I know, killer, eh?!  I went to Wal-Mart for something and on a whim, I decided to check out the women's section.  And low and behold, I found myself three pairs of Hanes sweatpants and three long sleeved Hanes tees for only $5.97 each!  Holy moly!  And the pants were actually petite size too!  Whoa!!!  Yes, I work from home and don't see anyone.  I definitely don't like wearing sweats all day but here is why...

My husband loves to be stingy with the heat at our house.  It's set at on a thermostat so all day long it's a certain temp and then gets warmer at night when we're home.  But wait a second, I work from home all day!  So basically I freeze my ass off.  But due to the price of heat and trying to save a few bucks I suffer.  And Lyla is always warm like her daddy so it's just me that suffers.  Hence I need layers and warm clothes.  I have not bought "work" clothes in years so most of mine are all ripped or stretched out from when I was pregnant.  So just having new sweats I am super excited!  Lame, I know.

So all I have to do is layer, add my finger-less gloves, and my snuggie and I can work at home without freezing to death.  Yay for new work clothes!

(Yes this is as pathetic as it sounds.  My work clothes are sweats, my husband freezes me out of our house on a daily basis, and I am super excited over a Wal-Mart deal.  Wow, just wow.)

About to Lose It

Okay well I actually did just lose it.  What you may ask?  Well my sanity for one thing (or all that is left of it), I lost it emotionally and just sobbed all over my laptop to Jared, and although I let it all out, I'm still not feeling great.

What happens if you are living someone else's dream?  What do you do?  I am living someone else's dream.  I am doing what someone else wants to do; not me.  My dream, well it's unreachable currently so in the mean time I have to keep doing what I'm doing.  Living, working, breathing, getting by.  I should be over the moon, grateful, thrilled to the max - like any other person would be.  But me, no I'm not.  I'm nervous, I'm anxious, and I'm worried.  I don't think I can do it. I think I may fail.  I think this is not what I want.

You only have one life, so live it the way you want?  But it's not that easy.

My throat has been throbbing for 3 weeks now. I swear I have strep throat.  I've been eating Halls like candy.  The wrapper says:  A pep talk in every drop.  With the words:  Be unstoppable, Power through, Push on, Inspire envy.  I want to take this wrapper, shred it into a million pieces, then burn it, and spit on it, then throw it in the toilet and flush.  Power through?  Easier said than done.

When will it be my time?  When can I look in the mirror and be happy with what I'm doing?  Life sucks sometimes.  But beggars can't be choosers, right?  I am lucky, grateful for what I'm doing with myself but I don't have to be in love with it.

Ugh, just thinking these thoughts out load makes me feel a bit better but it will be a while before my dreams can come true.

To Pixie or not to Pixie

I need a new hair cut.  My look is just drab, really.  I've been growing my bangs out all year and every day I just pin them back and put a pony tail in.  I would love to cut my hair short, short, like pixie style but I don't think I could pull it off. I can picture it now:  All the hair is cut, stylist says it looks great, I'm in shock and agree, then cry all the way home.  I keep saying I'm going to grow my hair back out to it's long state but I just don't have the stamina anymore.  Plus when it's long all I do is put it up anyways.

I seriously have the worst hair ever!  It's super thin and wicked flat.  I. Hate. It.  I was thinking maybe to get a new styled bob or something.  Ugh I can't decide!  Thoughts?!

I read Lyndsay Johnson's blog and her pixie is the bomb!  Rebecca over a the Daily Muse also posted a nice photo of a bob the other day that I salivated over.

I had Jared actually take my photo this morning and put a pixie do on my head.  It was so bad  I could not share it!  So I guess it's a no for pixie.  But I still need a new style!  Thoughts anyone?

Top 10 Things that have been Annoying me Lately

I am very easily annoyed.  So in order to complain all at once, here are the top ten annoyances in my life currently:

  1. People who call me, leave a message and then email me to tell me they just left me a message (or vice versa).  Like I am incapable to hear a voice mail?  Drives me BONKERS!
  2. If I call someone but don't leave a message, it makes me crazy when they call me back just cause they saw a missed call.  I hear, "Hi, I saw you called me?".  Well, if I really wanted to talk to you I'd have left a message so stop being a STALKER!
  3. If I don't respond to your email in .02 seconds I get a follow up.  "Just wanted to confirm you got my email."  Um do you people NOT trust technology?  It works, 99% of the time...
  4. Suction cups that have appeared to be on my daughter's hands and legs.  She is suctioned on to me at all times lately.  I heard about this clingy stage but it's driving me crazy lately since I'm so busy at work. But I will admit the first few times she cried when I tried to leave I liked it. Made me feel so wanted.
  5. The fact that I don't ever get snail mail! I only get bills and magazines.  I want some real, good stuff people!
  6. Rising costs of EVERYTHING!  Man, I can't even go to Dunkin Donuts anymore.  They want more than $6 for a coffee and a donut and milk for Lyla.  Ridiculous!
  7. My husband tells me to lighten up and stop acting so old.  So on a Monday night I got trashed, ate about 15 s'mores and then tried to jump in our pool with all my clothes on.  Did I mention it was a Monday night?  And then he tells me I'm acting ridiculous. WTF! (by the way it was a lot of fun that night, not so much Tuesday morning...)
  8. My life is 178% consumed by my job right now and I'm getting the evil eye every time I ask the hubby for just one hour to myself to do nothing ("well I'm busy doing this, you're the mom, I did all cleaning, etc).  He's a great guy but such a PUNK sometimes!
  9. I'm still doing this stupid dieting cause I don't want to be a lardass while I wait to have another baby.  But honestly I feel like I should just be pregnant cause dieting sucks ass.  And anyways, if I'm going to have another baby eventually, some day, why should I bother to lose weight now?  UGH!
  10. It's 3:30 and I'm dying for a cocktail...
Okay enough complaining and back to work...

Thanks for listening!

Ruby Tuesday

I would love nothing more than to sit here and type about how wonderful of a day it is.  But the fact is, it sucks!  I'm STILL sick and I'm pretty sure I have a fever too.  My cat is STILL missing and I'm pretty sure I'm going to get arrested.

Yes, you've got that correct: arrested or at least fined or reprimanded.  I have definitely put up missing cat flyers on every stop sign around.  Isn't that destruction of public transportation or something? I didn't think of it until I was done of course.  But I didn't cover any words, just posted at the bottom of the sign where people would see it in desperate hopes that my cat was indeed catnapped or found or at the very least rescued by someone local as opposed to being eaten alive by some wild animal. I have to think positive you know...

Did you see the riots going on in England right now?  This is affecting Jared's home town!  We are worried for his parents safety.  Let's just hope they stay home!

By the way, I really hope to stop boring you all with my miseries about the missing cat and my lack of wellbeing soon.

Friday Friday

It's Friday and I've been so tired all week that I've barely had time or energy to blog at all.  I feel sad and my fingers miss writing.  I've been so hectic at work and Lyla is nonstop on the go.  Starting Monday next week, Jared and I said we're going back to our usually scheduled programs.  Getting up early, starting my day with a work out, making the hubby breakfast and lunch for work, all before Lyla wakes.  Back when we were in a good routine it worked out well and my quiet mornings were a blessing.  Lately we've been up so late that I'm too tired to get up in the morning.

Tonight is date night! I'm looking forward to Jared and I going out just the 2 of us.  I wanted to ask, what do you and your significant other like to do on date nights? I'm looking for some different, fun things.  We usually just do dinner which is great but I'd love to have something more!
