My latest piece for Suburban Misfit Mom was published recently. Though I wrote this a few weeks back, it brings back lots of emotions.

SMM: Six Stages of Exercise with a Toddler
Acceptance. You turn on the TV to start searching for that evil Jillian Michael’s workout and your toddler’s eyes light up! He runs to the couch with all three of his blankies, sits down as close as he can to you, and his smile lights up the whole world. He is so excited to watch TV with you!

SMM: There are 50 ways to leave your children
My lastest on Suburban Misfit Mom:
Don’t need to be coy, Roy. And make a new plan, Stan.
There are 50 ways to leave your children.
Okay, not literally. I’m talking about what we working moms like to call: Business Trips. Not only do we work and be a mom simultaneously, but when we travel we orchestrate child care, pick-ups, drop offs, and more with such efficiency we make the CIA look lame.
I don’t have to travel too often, but when I do, you can bet there are going to be multiple spreadsheets involved. Here is how it is done.

SMM: I Can Do This
Looking around this house I let out a huge sigh of frustration.
Laundry piled up to be done. Dishes overflowing in the sink. Dishwasher to be emptied. My son, who just got two shots at the doctor is crying in his room. He woke up after a quick 20 minute nap when he usually does two hours. I’ve got so much work stockpiled in front of me just for my day job so let’s not talk about my other job; you know, motherhood.

SMM: Tiger Problems
My latest on Suburban Misfit Mom.
My daughter says there is a tiger in her room. And if there isn’t one in her room, there will be one that’s going to get her when she goes to sleep.

My favorite quote: "Instead of making lemonade, you want to take those lemons that life hands you, and shove them up your spouse’s ass."

SMM: 10 Things I’d Rather Do with $300 than Pay for a Week of Summer Camp
Everything for kids is SO damn expensive.
I know how lucky I am to work from home. So this summer when my daughter is out of school, I’ll be able to keep her with me. Figuring she may be a bit bored home all day, every day with me, I researched camp options to keep her busy and mix it up a bit. But unless I plan on robbing a bank, missing summer bill payments, or eating mac and cheese every night, she’s just going to be a stay-at-home!
