The Balancing Act

I've not had much time to myself but I figured out the secret to having time today.  Get up at 4am!!  That's right!  Lyla's last feeding ended around 5 so I'm not going to go back to bed.  I have already accomplished so much this morning I feel for the first time, not lazy!

Balancing motherhood, home stuff, and soon to be work (gasp!) is not going to be an easy task.  I also want to fit in exercising, writing, and just me time.  I don't know how mother's do it, so give me some tips please!

I'm lucky that my husband does the cooking and helps a lot with the cleaning.  But if I had to do it all, I'd probably have throw up the white flag by now.  But even making a schedule is impossible because babies are all about them.  They don't care if you have to leave the house by 10 to run errands or get to an appointment.  If they are still hungry or they poop, well you're shit out of luck (pun intended).  All I can do is await Princess Lyla's approval to leave or do anything.  Eventually when she's a bit older she'll be on my schedule but she's just too little now.

I'm going to start experimenting with all different ways to spend my day to get things done.  Getting up super early and going until I crash or sleeping with Lyla in the morning but staying up late.  We shall see what works out best for me and for her.  In the mean time, I'm just going to get as much as I can get done in the amount of time I have.  And if I have time to paint my toes, read a book, or even just veg out for a few minutes, that time will be golden!

In all your time to get things done, do not forget to sleep. It is so easy to get caught up in finishing everything in front of you, but you definitely need that time to rest. I love your idea of sleeping when Lyla does. I never did that with Zack, but looking back on it, I wish I had.
Don't push things...you will get them figured out all in good time, I promise!
