25 Days of Christmas Memories - Day 17

This year I've decided to write a special Christmas memory for the 25 days of Christmas. Each day until Christmas day, I will share a funny Christmas moment, memorable gift exchange, and my happy moments with family.  I hope you enjoy!

17th Day of Christmas

Every year for Christmas, back in the day up until college, I would get a new outfit to wear on Christmas eve.  Each year I wanted to look hip (which is impossible since I'm a dork), pretty, and festive.  Usually my outfits included red, green, black, etc.  One special year, I was out shopping alone - bad idea - (I know better to take my fashion sense sister with me but some how I failed).  I was at the store and I came across this outfit that was shining like a Christmas tree.  No lie.  They were black pants with shiny, gold flowers embroidered all over them.  They were the kind that zipped up the side of your waste (so awful I'm cringing right now).  For some ungodly reason, I loved them.  They even had a shiny, sparkles, gold sweater with a floppy neck to match.  The sweater was awesome too - or so I thought!

I got dressed up that Christmas eve in my too hot to handle gold ensemble, curled my hair, and went out in public.  I don't remember too much of what people said about my hideousness but I was loving every minute of that outfit at the time.  When I look back at photos (now they are all burned), I wonder what the hell I was thinking.  Plus in the photos, my sweater looked see through so my lovely bra is showing.  Instead of a pretty young lady with class, that year for Christmas I looked like one of those cheap grandmas with the fake eyelashes, crazy make up, big hair and cigarette that like to hang out at casinos.  Lesson learned though - never go shopping without my sister again.
